WebbIn a recent study, Sackett et al studied 100 patients for thyrothymic rests, examining 180 sides of the neck in 90 individuals. Eighty-three separate sides (46%) revealed histologic thyroid rests. In those patients with recognized rests, 57% were bilateral, 30% right sided, and only 13% left sided.
